The CREG program is composed of four main elements: participants, counselors, the board, and coordinators. In order for CREG to be both effective and efficient in helping your business grow, each participant must fulfill its roles and responsibilities.
While specific direction and expectations will be determined upon acceptance in the CREG program, the following information can help you gain an understanding of what you can expect and what will be expected of you:
Participants: As a participant, you will be expected to:
- Notify the program staff if/when your plans or overall business direction changes
- Complete your "homework assignments" as agreed upon in counseling or training sessions
- Understand that each program applicant is evaluated individually and that the level or type of support offered varies based on need
Counselors: Counselors work closely with CREG participants, and are expected to:
- Utilize their expertise to help grow the participant's business
- Clearly state and routinely emphasize the fact that while their advice is well intentioned and believed to be correct, the outcome is not guaranteed
- Maintain the confidentiality of each participant
- Communicate ideas for program enhancement to program staff and the board
- Notify program staff when their ability to participate in the program or fulfill promised actions changes
- Complete their "homework assignments" as agreed upon in counseling or training sessions
Board: The board will operate collectively to oversee the CREG program, and will be expected to:
- Fairly assess applicants to determine access to the program's limited resources
- Continually assess the program and seek additional tools and offerings to keep CREG a worthwhile and beneficial program
Coordinator: A CREG coordinator will be tasked with ensuring each participant's experience in CREG is as beneficial as possible, and that the vision and goals of the CREG Board are realized. Coordinator expectations will include:
- Track all program participants
- Connect applicants with the counselors or classes best suited to their individual needs
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with applicants who cannot be admitted into the program
- Prepare and maintain program marketing materials, as well as monitor and track change requests for the program's website
- Become familiar with program databases and resources
- Track and administer program expenses
